Here’s a snapshot of recent events that are reshaping aged care quality and compliance
Over 88% of our clients stated they need assistance in the transition to the new Aged Care Quality Standards. You are not alone.
In response to this need, the Pride Living ACQS Coaching and Support Plan was launched on the 10th September 2018 and will run for 13 months. By subscribing to this plan and following our transition manual, you’ll be prepared and ready to meet these new standards by July 1, 2019.
These are the key areas where we will help you develop your compliance
ACQS – Future | ACQS - Current |
---|---|
Consumer-focused with new key concepts introduced such as dignity of risk and cultural safety | Process driven |
Organisational governance | This is a whole new standard |
Clinical Governance will have a big focus. Board Room decisions will be reviewable | No board accountability |
Best practice in clinical care is a base line requirement | Legislated practice is a minimum requirement |
Open Disclosure practice is a minimum requirement | No equivalent |
Choice vs risk - Risk Management | Risk avoidance |
Clinicians demonstrate timely referrals to other organisations and health professionals | Timliness not critical |
Anti-microbial stewardship – organisations are now expected to minimize infection related risks in two ways | Only expected to implement an effective infection control program |
New ACQS Standards Map – a map to help you navigate the new required standards
To help you transition we’ve developed a Standards Summary Table that quickly references the new standards, so that you can understand them faster and a little easier.
Pride Living consultants work with hundreds of facilities so we bring broad exposure to what works in different settings. Our clients remain compliant while delivering best practice care and services in a financially sustainable way.
With our transition manual, resource portal, electronic updates, project plans, training materials and helpline, you can be confident you will be doing the right thing well!
